Albany : "Working for you across the world".
Albany moved its back office (company central administration and client support services) to South Africa in 2006… and never looked back. Setting up in South Africa has been a good business decision for Albany. Aided by various service suppliers, Albany has been able to successfully set up its South African operation.
Our experience has been that one of the most important features in being able to properly establish a new business in South Africa, is to ensure compliance with the prevailing labour related legislation in the country. This includes legislation covering basic conditions of employment, labour relations, skills development and occupational health and safety. In addition, and as a result of South Africa’s past, there are two additional pieces of legislation that can apply to businesses – addressing employment equity and black economic empowerment. Albany has wanted to both comply with these laws, and to embrace the spirit and intention behind black economic empowerment.
We have identified a South African company, DRG Outsourcing, that is a professional human resources consultancy, and who is also well versed in the field of BEE. We found by using the services of such a local provider, that we have been able to get up to speed quickly and efficiently, and are able to operate safe in the knowledge that we have met the various compliance requirements.
